Meet Afonso Costa
Afonso Costa has directed Academia Danças do Mundo since 2009. His teaching brings the music and cultural roots of social dancing into the room, alongside the steps.
Listen, then dance
Rhythm and percussion help explain how the movement relates to the music. Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican salsa, Dominican bachata and Rock n’ Roll each bring a different musical conversation.
